Materials are indeed a source of experiments for designers. Signatures of the young generation entertained us thanks to an unusual use of Tarketts floor coverings, in a childhood poetic exercise, titled “Upside down ground”.
5.5 Designers’ piece of furniture came out of an observation, one’s propensity to spontaneously sit on the ground against the couch. The black result is a sober sitting system, that rolls by hand to create a new space used as a carpet. The product makes sense, for its characteristics of comfort, hygiene, inviting walking barefoot, and allows multiple uses: extra bed, child’s play, area picnic for two.
Elise Fouin added a value giving a 3D perspective to her carpet Hilly, designing a landscape pumped by circular inflated balloons. These fairytales pieces, at first exhibited in the manufacturer Showroom in Aubervilliers have been travelling, counting other concepts by Normal Studio, Nocc, Maud Vantours et Matali Crasset.
