SaloneSatellite 2024 Have a seat, enlight me: here are new talents

A great rendez-vous of the youth and the promising creatives can definitely be Satellite, at Milano Rho Fiera. It is where you meet the World, out of the big industry, and you can get a feeling of what is to come.

For the 2024th Edition, Asia made itself a protagonist. The Korean Studio Gyu reinvented the lounge archetype of a modernist chair, with the integration of Artificial Intelligence. The Silhouette HyungGyu Rhee (studiogyu.com) gave birth to was based on a training -for the computer- on 60 different models converted into digital drawings. The prototype came out of this program, eventually made of stainless steel and rope thanks to a human knowledge and craft expertise.

In his exhibition of Ordinary material / Extraordinary pieces, the Japanese Kotaro Usugami (www.kotarousugami.com) demonstrates a super sense of equilibrium. Sobriety is key when you give a quick look at the Mirrored Stool then, moving closer, you notice how reflection captures the surroundings. The Moment Lamp is also a sculptural piece, efficient and showing how the Designer is mastering the process of making.

Stance is a chair to have one’s feet at rest (in massive wood and plywood), conceived as a small piece of furniture, easy to store, was signed by the duo composed by Kotaro Tominaga and Futo Sakurai (www.ktandfs.com, also from Japan). One can note that this stool suggests a fine component of architecture.
